Common Rooms
Student life at St John’s is shaped and supported by our Common Rooms, which bring together students, staff and academics across the College.
Our Common Rooms
A community for everyone
Run by students for students, the St John’s Common Room (SJCR) brings together undergraduates, postgraduates, and Cranmer Hall students as one community. It’s the heart of student life at John’s: a place to connect, represent, and get involved.
Within the SJCR are two additional communities:
The Middle Common Room (MCR), for postgraduates and fourth-year undergraduates, provides a supportive social and academic hub with its own dedicated social space.
The Cranmer Common Room (CCR), for Cranmer Hall students, offers tailored support, representation, and fellowship and enjoys dedicated social spaces.
In addition, the Senior Common Room (SCR) brings together staff, alumni, Fellows and friends of the College in a lively and welcoming community. Members enjoy social and academic events throughout the year and play an active role in College life.
